Hindman is proud to present the biannual Western & Contemporary Native American Art auction, taking place on November 1, 2023. Brimming with important works by some of the most coveted names in historic western, wildlife, contemporary western and contemporary Native American fine art, collectors will be thrilled to see this impressive selection up on the auction block! Top lots within the sale include works by Eanger Iriving Couse, Philip Russell Goodwin, Martin Grelle, G. Harvey Jones, Ed Mell, Dale Nichols, Kathryn Woodman Leighton, Olaf Wieghorst, William Acheff and Dorothy Brett. A strong selection of bronzes, including several important examples by Harry Jackson, will be featured within the Western session. Also featured is a beautiful selection of furniture by American designer Thomas Molesworth.
We are thrilled to once again feature a strong session of Contemporary Native American fine art and craft, headlined by an incredible selection of works by Fritz Scholder. With each work created between 1968 and 1977, this selection may be the most important group of works by the artist to ever come to auction. Other contemporary Native American artists of renown represented within this sale include Allan Houser, Earl Biss, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, Tony Abeyta, Dan Namingha and Diego Romero.
