Modern & Contemporary Art on October 19th presents a curated selection of works, including painting, prints, and sculpture, from some of the most reknowned artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Highlights include Gerhard Richter's 1994 canvas 17 Nov. 1996 (Teil des verworfenen Abstrakten Bildes) as well as works from John Baldessari, Guy de Cointet, De Wain Valentine, Sam Francis, Sam Gilliam, and Mary Bauermeister. Among the exciting contemporary works on offer are paintings from Jonas Wood and Brian Calvin, and mixed-media from Melike Kara, Lita Albuquerque, and Robert Nava. Additionally, this auction features a special collection of more than 30 David Hockney "fax drawings," facsimile drawings that represent the complete collection conceptualized for the 1989 São Paulo Biennial.
