OUTSIDER ART LIFETIME COLLECTION

Presenting the lifetime collection of Phil Demise Smith. Demise Smith is trained as a writer, boasting an MFA in poetry from BGSU in 1974, and has been published since 1971. He began writing poetry at the age of 8 and has been a musician since 1973. In 1987, he began painting in his own self-taught style and has had numerous one-man and group shows in the United States and Europe. He developed an art and poetry program for the NY public school system. Demise Smith owns his own gallery in NYC, featuring outsider art from around the world. Demise Smith founded a few galleries, including one in NYC and one in Ridgefield, CT, and exhibited annually at the Outsider Art Fair, NYC. He developed relationships with artists in Holland and France including those in the US from exhibited artists to street artists. Demise Smith is well-known for his discerning eye, both as an artist and as a dealer/collector. As an aside: Phil had a punk bank in the 80's where he played at CBGB and other famous venues. We will be open for in-person bidding at the Norwalk Gallery. Pick-up is at our Norwalk Gallery from Thursday, November 2nd - Friday, November 10th, WEEKDAYS ONLY, 9-5.
