November Original Owner Collectibles Auction
ACME Auctions is excited to be auctioning multiple original owner collections covering a wide spectrum of collectibles from our shared cultural past.
Highlights include:
* a beautiful run of Topps baseball cards ranging from 1954 to 1960 including several duplicates. This collection has never been sold in pubic and has not seen the light of day since the cards were originally purchased in Tennessee.
* an original owner collection of 1952 and 1954 Bowman football cards
* a collection of 170 Wings Gum Trading Cards from 1952, also original owner
* a nice collection of over 600 Hard Rock Cafe pins from around the world.
* multiple trading cards from the 1977 Topps Star Wars series
* over 50 movie posters from a collector who worked at a New York City Lowe's Theater as an usher from the early 1970s to early 80s
* A petite collection of French movie posters
* a small but sweet original owner run of Silver Age Captain America comics
* a short yet historically significant run of the Pittsburgh Couriers Sunday comic section from 1952. These remarkable strips were created specifically for a primarily black audience, making them trailblazers in the world of comic art and cultural representation.
* A beautiful collection of 19th and early to mid 20th Century buttons
* A collection of eyeglasses/spectacles, also from the 19th and early 20th Century, direct from the descendants of the family who originally owned and wore them
* An incredible collection of early 20th century highly desirable postcards
In addition to the original owner items, we will also be selling a baseball signed by Mickey Cochrane and several other players from the mid-30's, multiple lots of antique postcards from the early 1900's and we are also throwing in a Versace jacket and belt owned by none other than Sir Elton John for good measure. This is an auction you will not want to miss!
