G. Donald Arnold Lifetime Jewelry Collection
Alex Cooper is pleased to present the lifetime jewelry collection of G. Donald Arnold, Baltimore, MD. Don and his partner, Irene, shared a love of fine and rare diamonds and gemstones, which they avidly perused and collected for decades. He amassed a collection of fine jewelry featuring special diamonds and gems including fine specimens of spessartite garnet, rubellite tourmalines and chrome diopside to name a few examples.
G. Donald Arnold, a Bedford native, served in the Air Force in the South Pacific in WWII. A lifelong musician, he attended the prestigious Peabody Conservatory for Music where he further refined his craft, going on to teach music for 30 years at Kenwood High School. All the while he continued to play in a band, first the Ches Kellam Band before it later became the Don Arnold Big Band. His loving companion, Irene Newton, made their many performances possible.
Featured lots include a GIA 1.02 carat emerald cut diamond, GIA 0.99 carat Thailand ruby, 2.53 carat color enhanced blue diamond ring, 8.65 ctw cognac & white diamond bracelet along with various estate pieces from Victorian, Art Deco, Art Nouveau and Mid – Century eras.
