Chinese Jade, Ceramics, and Works of Art
Session Two of the Spring Fine Asian Art auction highlights the rich diversity of premium lots available at Oakridge Auction Gallery. Among these works are pieces with exceptional provenance, originating from the esteemed collections of connoisseurs of Chinese antiques. With a total of 202 lots, this session opens with an impressive array of fifty jade items, including an intricately carved white jade covered censer and a unique Yuan dynasty white jade finial. Equally remarkable are the sixty-three lots of fine Chinese ceramics, spanning from small-scale wucai and celadon pieces to elegant porcelain plaques crafted by famed artist Deng Bishan. Moreover, this section presents the rare opportunity to acquire highly coveted antiques, including a pair of large ruby-red-glazed jars, reminiscent of those seen in world-class museums like the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The session closes with a variety of bronze, pewter, wood, stone, and lacquer antiques. Highlights include quality Huanghuali furniture, including two cabinets, a Song or Yuan dynasty wood carving of the goddess Guanyin in remarkable condition, and several bronze incense burners exhibiting exceptional artistry and craftsmanship.
