2012 Antique Toy,Train & Americana Auction

The sale includes almost 400 lots from the collection of the late Athelstan & Katherine Spilhaus. Many of the items on offer were pictured in their book 'Mechanical Toys-How Old Toys Work' , 1989 by Crown Publishers, New York.The collection displays their wide range of interest in mechanical music, optical and scientific devices. Also included in the sale are more than 200 lots from Rick Ralston, author of 'Cast Iron Floor Trains' published in 1984 as well as a wonderful grouping of American painted tin toys from the collection of Joseph Copp. Also included in the sale are many other items from various consigners, a number of are attic treasures fresh to the market.
