East Village Collection

The collection is approximately 120 pieces, from the estate of Gregg Smith, Saint Louis, MO. Comprised of paintings, drawings, prints and sculpture, most of the works were executed in the 1980's by artists active in the East Village. Smith is said to have amassed one of the largest collections of East Village art know n to exist. Many of the works in this sale were included in the New Museum exhibition "East Village USA", December 2004 - March 2005. Highlights include works by David Wojnarowicz, Kenny Scharf, Jean-Michel Basquiat, John Fekner, Keith Haring, Futura 2000, Fab 5 Freddie, Keily Jenkins, Meyer Vaisman, Martin Wong, Greer Lankton, Ford Beckman, and Kjell Erik Killi Olsen.
