Two Day New Year's Estate Auction - Day Two

Ahlers & Ogletree Auction Gallery is proud to handle the collection of Mr. Thomas V. and Mrs. Marie B. Patton, a prominent Atlanta couple who housed their fine furnishings, antiques, and art in several homes in Atlanta, Georgia and Sea Island, Georgia. Family friend and one of Atlanta?s most-noted interior designers, Mr. John Oetgen assisted the acquisition and design of their collection in both their interiors and gardens to create a cohesive, sophisticated, and classic aesthetic. The beauty of the Patton?s interiors led to them being featured in Veranda magazine and Southern Accents magazine. The Pattons were passionate about collecting and traveling and often purchased art, architectural fragments, antiques and furniture abroad, particularly in France, Italy, Portugal and Africa as well as throughout the United States. The couple?s expansive estate includes a range of objects such as significant paintings by listed artists, Classical sculptural fragments, high-end designer furniture, hand-carved gilt wood accent pieces, quality silver, marble top furniture and more. In our premier two-day estate auction, Ahlers & Ogletree is pleased to highlight the Patton Estate, as well as, handle property from three other prominent Southern estates including items that were originally owned by Waring Carington and Martha Williams of the historic Two Meeting Street home in Charleston, South Carolina that have passed through the direct family line to our auction house, contents from a prestigious Buckhead, Atlanta high-rise penthouse apartment at The Winston, and the Estate of Margaret C. Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia and Greensboro, Georgia.
