Antique and Modern Jewellery
We offer a really special piece in this month?s auction in the form
of a stunning Edwardian platinum and diamond tiara. It really is a charming piece, created in the quintessential ornate garland style of the period. Made with an estimated 10cts of old-cut and single-cut diamonds, this tiara is an incredibly delicate and feminine piece from a more glamorous era and would make a beautiful addition to a bridal outfit. An impressive collection of antique lockets are featured, from the ornate Lot 316 (a late Victorian silver and gold diamond heart locket) to Lot 529, a beautifully worked Victorian locket designed as a three-leaf clover pierced lattice with cannetille accents. There are also numerous embossed heart-shape lockets offered (see Lots 520-522). As ever, the auction is replete with a selection of stunning diamonds, including a number of fancy cuts. Lot 121 is a heart-shaped singlestone ring of 1.46cts, while Lot 153 is an unusual triangle-shape single-stone ring of 1.75cts. We also offer a rectangular-shaped single-stone ring and studs matching in clarity and colour (see Lots 133 and 141 respectively). If you?re simply looking for a classic brilliant-cut diamond, we are pleased to offer lot 165 ? our biggest diamond in the auction at 2.01cts. The modern designer wear section is small but strong in this auction, with interesting pieces from Cartier (Lots 227 and 228) and Bulgari(Lots 222 - 224) as well as a various pieces from Chopard?s ever popular ?Happy Diamonds? collection (Lots 233, 234). If you?re on the lookout for a simple but elegant gift, Lot 231 could be just the fit ? a beautifully made heart-shape pendant and chain by French luxury jewellers Chaumet. Finally, a stunning collection of early 20th century French pieces are offered in this sale. A selection of French Art Nouveau brooches embody the sinuous curves of the movement (Lots 343 and 331), while Lot 451 is an early example of the garland style necklace popular in late 19h century France.
