To be offered are over 300 lots on the Beats, Counterculture & The Avant Garde, focusing on literature and culture of the 1960s, but also with a great number of modern fine press productions from important writers like William Everson and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. With a tremendous selection of underground art and comics, focusing on R. Crumb and S. Clay Wilson, including two original signed color paintings by Wilson. We are also offering several illustrated underground, literary, or satirical periodicals like Gothic Blimp Works, Aspen, Avant Garde, Horseshit, and Evergreen. We are also offering a nice selection of modern and fine literature with several first editions of John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemingway. There is a more than 30-year unbroken run of Daredevil comics, starting with a very nice copy of the rare first issue. Plus several beautiful lots of finely bound sets from Riviere and Zaehnsdorf among others. Also a great selection of Children?s & Illustrated books such as Oz, Dr. Seuss, Edmund Dulac, and a fabulous edition of Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens, which is signed with a drawing by the illustrator Arthur Rackham, and is signed by the author J.M. Barrie, and 5 others.
