Antique & Modern Jewellery

Summer is well and truly upon us and this month?s Antique & Modern auction has some jewels bursting with colour to perfectly compliment the season of sunshine, sea, greenery and flowers. Whether it is a delicate ruby and diamond flower ring with earrings ensuite, a fabulous pair of diamond and topaz pendant earrings reminiscent of crystal waters (lot 455) or a vibrant jade and diamond brooch there is something for every taste. The Art Deco brooch (Lot 205) on the front cover is a clear example of the geometric design favoured by the period, indeed the reverse of this brooch is testament to the high quality craftsmanship of this brooch as much as the front. The back cover highlights a very versatile diamond set collar necklace (lot 188) that can be equally worn during the day or with more glamorous attire at night and for an equally timeless piece why not have a look at our classic tennis bracelet (lot 208) containing a total of 18.10cts. We have an array of animal, bird and insect inspired jewellery including a delicate brooch depicting a group of flying swallows suspending a garland of ruby and diamond flowers (lot 69) a loveable Spaniel dog brooch, who is set with sapphire eyes and a heart shaped diamond set collar, which contrasts completely with a very delicate gold insect brooch with plique a jour enamel wings (lot 150). Of course this month also presents our collection of designer pieces including a wonderful elephant pendant by Chopard (lot 312).
