September 7 - Estate Auction

Michaan's monthly sale will feature lots of unique imagery across department lines in September. Among Fine Art estate offerings are paintings, sculpture, photographs and graphics; Jewelry often features period selections, timepieces, natural jadeite jade and quality diamonds; 20th Century Design lots commonly offer modern and contemporary artisan furniture, lighting and decorative objects and the Furniture and Decorative Arts section of the sale often includes silver, rugs and carpets, glassware, porcelains, figurines and American and European furniture. Select Asian works of art have also been chosen for Michaan's monthly sales, with fine jade carvings, porcelains, bronzes, glassware, scrolls and textiles often seen at auction. Highlights for the month of September include a photo realist oil painting of Oakland's famed Tribune Tower by the Bay Area's own Patricio Moreno Toro, an authentic Knights Templar Commander medal, an embroidered hanging panel depicting the image of Chairman Mao and an exceptionally executed pair of portrait miniatures attributed to Elkanah Tisdale. In addition, Michaan's Coin & Stamp Department will present a U.S. auction collection of gold and silver coins.
