American designer Lawrence Laske has amassed an incredible collection of drawings, sketchbooks, models and prototypes throughout his thirty year career. With inexhaustible creativity, Laske devised hundreds (if not thousands) of unique designs for various products, objects and furniture items. Relishing in the design process, Laske meticulously documented his creations with detailed sketches, hand-drawn renderings, hand-crafted models and sometimes even prototype examples. After graduating from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 1985, Laske moved to Milan where he completed a post-graduate program at the esteemed Domus Academy in Milan before going on to work for the celebrated Ettore Sottsass at Sottsass Associati. Laske?s career introduced him to many illustrious designers and manufacturers around the world including Knoll, Alessi, Ingo Maurer, Philippe Starck, Matteo Thun and Emilio Ambasz among others. This exclusive online sale features twenty-nine sketchbooks along with drawings, models and prototypes from Lawrence Laske?s impressive archive. In addition to Laske?s own creations, this sale includes more than 100 works by artists and designers Laske met and collaborated with over the years. *All items in this auction are sold to benefit A Brain Tumor and A Dream, a non-profit founded by Lawrence Laske to support the design community and the next generation of creative thinkers.
