Magic Memorabilia: Pollock, Alfredson & More
Our fall auction will feature two important components.
The first is a selection of memorabilia related to the career of Channing Pollock. Little can be said of this great cabaret magician that has not been said before. He was, next to Cardini, perhaps the most imitated stage magician of the 20th century. Offered for the first time to the public will be unique personal artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia related to his storied career.
The second is the library -- including the extensive periodical collection -- of noted author, bibliographer, and historian James B. Alfredson. Alfredson, along with co-author George L. Daily, literally "wrote the book" on the history of conjuring periodicals. His entire collection, including countless bound files of desirable and uncommon magazines, will go on the block.
The balance of the auction will include choice apparatus, ephemera, and posters from a variety of sources.
The auction takes place at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 1st in our Chicago Gallery.
