This season?s two-day auction will feature institutional property from The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF), The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Shippensburg University and others. Property from private collectors and estates will also be sold, including a collection of couture and accessories from a NYC fashion industry consultant who was also an early Burning Man body art style icon. Gentleman?s 18th C embroidered coat and waistcoats, 18th C brocade bodices, beaded dresses and bags, Edwardian and Victorian garments. Isabel Canovas and other jewelry, Ethnographic textiles including Coptic, Safavid, and Ottoman and Turkish embroidery, Chinese garments and textiles, Oriental and Navajo carpets, lace and lace makers tools, including a large quantity of needlework tools from the collections of Mrs. DeWitt Clinton Cohen and Gertrude Whiting, many featured and illustrated in her book Old-Time Tools and Toys of Needlework.
