The taxidermy is from a local hunter?s private collection and will include such examples as a common zebra, Cape buffalo, should mount African giraffe standing a stately 10? 6? tall, axis buck, caribou, elk, African blonde Blesbok antelope, Eland antelope, African Dik-Dik antelope full body mounts, African black wildebeest, African Addax antelope, African impala, African Nyala antelope, white Corsican sheep, African bush pig, Catalina goat, African Reed buck, Red stag with 8 point rack, prong horn antelope and a rare hermaphrodite white tail deer.
Fine art has always been a major component of our auctions and this one is no exception. Featuring a large canvas, 50 x 70?, by contemporary surrealist artist Jerry Wayne Downs the work is titled ?Invitation to the Dance?. The work features an expansive cloudy sky with figures walking toward a grouping of radio antenna dishes with skylights pointing to the heavens. Downs began his career working for Disney Studios working in the animation department where he worked on such classics as ?Sleeping Beauty?, ?Mary Poppins? and ?The Jungle Book?. Other works to be auctioned will be an oil on canvas by Sochiro Tomiaka, the work has a stark simplicity as it is just black silhouettes of bare trees against a white background, oil on canvas homestead with cattle, attributed to William Weaver Armstrong, oil on canvas titled ?Birthday Morning? signed F.
