Is it too late to Welcome to our December Antique and Modern
Jewellery Auction, and we really are seeing off 2014 in style! The first
item of note gracing our front cover is lot 118, a riviere set with 98
dazzling diamonds! This is a true showstopper necklace, perfect for
any stylish lady?s Christmas list. Our back cover lot is a beautiful early
20th century brooch, by August Hollming who was an workmaster
for Faberge in the early 1900s (lot 210). Oozing style and quality, this
sapphire and diamond brooch is a wonderful violet-blue colour, and is
featured as a full page in the catalogue.
We are also offering the rare opportunity to own a stunning piece of
jewellery with Royal provenance ? we are proud to be able to offer
two stick pins formerly in the collection of The Duke and Duchess
of Windsor, as well three pieces of jewellery that once belonged to
H.R.H. Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, beautiful pieces with
exceptional provenance. Lot 100 is a gold and diamond panel bracelet,
and lot 101 is a striking Belle Epoque diamond and ruby ring. The ring
was gifted to H.R.H. The Duchess of York (later Queen Mary) from her
father-in-law H.R.H. The Prince of Wales in 1893, and is accompanied
by a certificate of provenance. Another lot well worth looking at is
a cased Asprey diamond set stick pin owned by style icon Wallis
Simpson (lot 98).
As we are now officially on the countdown to Christmas, we have
plenty of sparkle in keeping with the festive season. We have a
selection of impressive diamond solitaire rings, lots 290 and 106
weighing in at 2.57 and 3.17 carats respectively. There are also some
beautiful old cut diamond ear studs, lot 138, which weigh up to 3
