Prehistoric and Historic Artifact Auction

We are very pleased to offer a significant portion of the Roy Hathcock collection in this auction. The auction also includes a nice group of artifacts from the old, well known Chalmer Lynch Collection. This group of Chalmer's artifacts has stayed intact since being in his collection. We are also offering a portion of Tony Podkanowicz' lifetime collection. Tony has been active in the collecting of artifacts for many years. As early as the mid-1970's, Tony was featuring artifacts in archaeological journals. We should also note that a fine group of Daltons from Leo Paul Davis' collection can be found in this auction. Many were pictured in Davis' Who's Who in Indian Relics (#7) spread. Some were pictured in Who's Who #3, either in the Davis or Buel collections. Highlights in this sale include a very rare Headpot from the Hathcock Collection. It headlines for over 35 other pottery master pieces from the Hathcock collection - the great majority having been pictured in the Hathcock Collection. Roy's collection also included a premier grouping of flint and stone artifacts as well. Roy's 7.63" Butler Co, Missouri Dovetail, one of his finest Axes and his 9.93" Chariton County Etley are included in offering. This auction includes a number of Ohio and Indiana Dovetails, including a fine Flintridge Ohio Dovetail once in the Dwain Rogers Collection. Several Bannerstones will be sold. A magnificent Quartz Whalestail is included, along with several slate Bannerstones from the Lynch Collection. Last, but certainly not least, we are very pleased to offer the finest Pre-Columbian pottery pieces from the old Dr. Earl Riddick Collection. Collected in the late 1960's with the assistance of Dr. Davis Harner, these works of art were evaluated and appraised by Dr. Frederick Dockstader (Director of the Heye). This Riddick offering includes the six finest pieces in the collection, including the Tattooed Woman, a 22.75" Colima Pottery Figurine.
