Antique & Modern Jewellery

Welcome to our February Antique & Modern Jewellery auction. This month we have an array of antique jewellery, designer pieces and diamond rings. Taking pride of place on our front cover is lot 290, an ornate 19th century silver gilt, enamelled, and gem-set table salt. Attributed to Mellerio Dit Meller, this unique piece is estimated at 8,000-12,000. With Valentine's Day just around the corner, we have the perfect fix for any last minute gifts. Plate six features a set of Elsa Peretti for Tiffany & Co 'Open Heart' jewellery. Lots 359 and 360 are a necklace and pair of earrings of this design, with the estimates of 240-340 and 200-300 respectively. More literally, lot 356 is a Tiffany & Co diamond set 'Love' ring, by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co, with the estimate of 600-900. Our diamonds this month are set to be a main attraction. Lot 332 is a Cartier diamond ring, complete with a certificate stating that the stone is E colour, and internally flawless, and will be offered at 8,000-12,000. Lot 181 is a five stone diamond ring with an estimate of 4,000-6,000, and a certificate for each stone. Top lots from our antique offering include lot 49, a magnificent Victorian bangle purchased from Paris' famed shopping street, Rue de la Paix. Complete with fitted case, this bangle has a striking buckle design. Accented with split pearls, the bangle has an estimate of 1,500-2,000. For fans of Georgian jewels, plate eight features a good selection of late-18th Century mourning pieces. Lot 484 is a blue enamel and pearl brooch, with exquisite floral detailing and an estimate of 300-400. Another lot to note is 486, a late-18th century memorial ring with a dove motif, offered at 300-400.
