Welcome to our October Antique & Modern Auction. Without a doubt, the magnificent tiara adorning our front cover is one of the star pieces in the sale. The ultimate accessory, lot 205 contains in excess of thirteen carats of diamonds. A late Victorian example, the piece dates from around 1880. Conveniently, the tiara also converts into a necklace as seen on plate three, and has an estimate of £18,000-25,000. Further antique pieces include lots 15 and 16, lovely examples of Victorian snake jewellery. The bracelet and necklace are both designed as coiled snakes, with garnet eyes and turquoise adornment to their crests, estimated at £280-380 and £800-1,200 respectively. Other sumptuous snake jewellery can be seen in lots 104, 223 and 287. A collection of Fabergé pieces offered in the designer section. A selection of exquisitely coloured enamel and diamond-set egg pendants can be seen from lots 387 to 394, with guide prices from £300 upwards. The selection of Cartier jewellery in our designer section is extensive, including pieces from the ?LOVE?, ?Trinity? and ?Tank? collections. Further designer pieces from Child & Child, Chopard, Gucci and Links of London are showcased on plates five and six. Gemstones to note include lot 171, a yellow Ceylon sapphire dress ring estimated at £2,500-3,500. Lots 72 and 75 are certified Burmese ruby and diamond rings, with the estimates of £1,00-1,500 and £300-400 respectively. Diamond single-stone rings sure to appeal are lots 265 and 266, each weighing in excess of three carats. Lot 265 is a 3.29ct brilliant-cut diamond with a report stating that the diamond is J colour, VS1 clarity, with a guide price of £14,000-20,000. Lot 266 features an old-cut diamond weighing 3.71cts, with K colour and VS2 clarity, estimated at £12,000-18,000.
