Marguerite Montaut Gamy (France, late 19th/early 20th century), "En Bretagne", depicting figures in early 20th century motorcar, image size: 13x31, as framed: 21.5 x 39.25 There were three artists working at the press in Paris at this time, Ernst Montaut (the godfather of the birth of automotive art), his wife an artist who went by the name of Marguerite Gamy, and a third artist, Harry Elliot. When originally sold by Sotheby's London at the “Kachadourian Collection of Automobile Art” catalog sale on the 25th of September, 1990, the Sothebys Automotive Art expert Toby Wilson stated that it was by Marguerite Montaut Gamy.
