***Auction Highlight*** 1927-s Standing Liberty Quarter 25c Graded Choice AU By USCG. The 1927-S quarter is the lowest mintage (by a large margin) Type 2 Standing Liberty quarter. In fact, it is the second lowest mintage of the entire series as only the very rare 1916 had a lower mintage. This issue is very interesting in terms of the distribution of grades of the survivors. Basically, 95 percent or more of the survivors grade AG03 to GD06. VG, Fine, VF, and EX examples are really rare. And, of course, choice AU examples are incredibly rare and highly sought. The attractive example at hand has the vast majority of original mint luster remaining and just a bit of wear at the very high points. It is very attractive with gold and russet rim toning covering both obverse and reverse. This choice AU Example is sure to please. I have included a pegs graded au55 for comparison, I think you'll agree ours shows similar wear at the high points and is accurately graded.
