Pair of Cast Iron English Aesthetic Side Chairs c.1900. The aesthetic movement was a reaction to the opulent Victorian style, and was the precursor to Arts & Crafts. These extraordinary and attractive chairs have cast frames which have been painted red, with a sunflower motif, and are designed to imitate carved and turned wood. The seats are made of wood. Cast into the seat back is a maker's mark which includes the figures 23/2/R/E/A. Beautiful pair to use on your porch, sunporch or garden.
Dimensions are 18 in h x 14 in w x 15.5 in d. Condition is good with wear to the wooden seats. Please call or email for a detailed condition report.
