Description
France, a late 19th century figural swinging clock, the turned, ebonized base supporting a spelter statue featuring a young woman with putto on a wheel at her left, her right arm cradling a cornucopia overflowing with coins, her left held aloft and supporting a compound pendulum, the 8 day timepiece movement contained in the green painted upper sphere, with applied roman numerals and Louis XV hands, and connected to the smaller, painted bob by steel and brass rods
Condition
minor losses to ebonizing, figure appears to retain its original finish, but has been cleaned, a few minor scratches, turned support for the clock replaced, spheres repainted, hands a bit dirty, ticking, out of beat, will need adjustment
