Kangxi Period (1651-1722)
The interior of the shallow, widely-flaring dish is painted in rich blue tones with a medallion enclosing a scene of a man on horseback hunting with bow and arrow, beside him a woman holding a falcon, enclosed within a border of interlaced vines and flowerheads and Bajixiang, on the lobed rim. The exterior painted with sixteen asters, the base with a apocryphal Chenghua mark in underglaze blue.
D. 7 3/4 in. Exhibited: Boras Konstmuseum, "Mittens Rike, 1985"
Condition: Base has a number of pin holes in the glaze, there are several rough spots ib the ring foot from kiln debris.
