Description
A handsome late 19th century folk art ship diorama with finely crafted model of a transitional ship plying interesting waters nicely shaped from plaster molded as rolling waves with well painted shading, highlights, subtle white caps, and splashing against the hull, she flies the American flag along with others and utilizes both wind and steam power. The shadowbox is all original and well built, the frame is a 19th century water gilded molding with repeating pattern in reverse, the glass is original with elongated bubbles.
Measures 13.5 x 20.5 x 4.5 inches.
