Description
Taino. Recumbent man with huge head. The posture of the figure suggests a possible transition from dog to human and may reference a mutual human/dog bond associated with the afterlife. Dogs were escorts through the underworld. The excessively large head denotes the importance of the "brain house" as the source of hallucinogenic transitions and dream states. Made of magnetite with weak magnetic field. From the collection of Larry Roberts author of "Taino Sculpture, Art of the Gods" and "Taino Hallucinogenic Implements, Inhaling the Cosmic Dust" Size: 7.5'' x 3'' x 3'' (19 x 8 x 8 cm).
