Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, DaoGuang mountain colorful landscape bowls. Potted with a shallow body, has an open mouth, deep arced body, raised on small ring footed base with slight concave. This bowl in Famille Rose fine color, is an excellent object with delicate mountain peaks are engulfed in misty clouds while streams of a river rolling down a rocky cliff. There are people and pavilions interspersed in the forest. Many mountains in China are sacred, some to Daoists. Mountains represent the yang element in the landscape and as such connect to the governing yang element in China the Emperor. Mountain is one of the eight trigrams in Feng Shui and Yi Jing. Of these Taishan is considered the most important and stones from the mountain were often placed in towns across China as a lucky charm. The surface of the glaze is bright, smooth and glossy.
