19th Century Ifugao Tribal Used Seated Bulul Statue. Kneeling male figure; used as a piece of the huts architecture; with a custom black metal stand. Red 'David Howard Tribale Art' sticker; '623A' catalogue number. Circa 1890. {Approximate dimensions not including the stand: 23 high x 3 3/4 wide x 3 1/4 inches deep.}. Similar examples in "The Last Filipino Head Hunters" by David Howard, page 166. Ex-collection: Bill Galvin. Ex-collection: Georgia Sales. Condition: Overall wear consistent with tribal use and age, hole loss to the middle of the body.
