Provenance: From the collection of Betty-Carol Sellen and Martha Burt. Ivy Billiot is a Houma tribe American Indian artist. His father, Cyril Billiot, was also a wood carver. His carvings are much more "lifelike" than Cyril's as he follows photographs and pictures of his subjects to carve and paint them. Betty-Carol Sellen purchased these items directly from the artist at his home and at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.
