Description: A cool antique ukiyo-e woodblock print by Toyohara Kunichika in 1867. Kunichika trained under the legendary ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kunisada. This is likely a yakusha-e, or a print of an actor. Kunichika was well known for his prints of actors as he was well acquainted with kabuki theater. This print was published by Daikokuya Kinnosuke. The print shows a kabuki actor in an white and red robe with an ornate hairstyle.
Signed: Artist sig Kunichika hitsu (designed by Kunichika) in a long cartouche with a red toshidama stamp. Publisher seal beneath artist sig, Dai Kin (Daikokuya Kinnosuke).
