William Glasner
(from adammsgallery.com) Internationally known glass artist William Glasner has been working in glass since 1973. He first earned his B.A. degree form University of Rochester. After which he studied with master glass artists Lino Tagliapietra, Stephen Dee Edwards and Giani Toso. He has also attended workshops at Penland School of Crafts and the Rochester Folk Art Guild Glass Studio. William has been working in his own studio, Nashama Glass Studio, since 1978 in a rural area of New England. His work has been featured in articles of the New York Times and American Craft Magazine, and in the books Glass: State of the Art (1984) and New Glass: A Worldwide Survey. He has works in the permanent collections of the Corning Museum of Glass, Denmark's GlasMuseum, International Collection of Modern glass and the University of Michigan Museum of Art. His work is shown in galleries and museums all around the United States as well as Canada, Japan, Europe and the former Soviet Union. Master Glass Artist William Glasner creates original Leaf Applique designs in vases, bowls, and perfume vials. His process starts with ancient glass blowing techniques where his elegant forms are created. William then hot forms clear crystal leaves to the surface of the blown glass. The Leaves are then etched to a soft matte finish. Each piece is then signed, dated and numbered.
