Description

A French folk-art figural mantel clock in carved wood and composite commemorating a fighting unit â€œLes Sections du Temple” in the French Revolution. The clock depicts a single figure â€œsans culots” with a walking stick flanked on one side by a drum and on the other by a black mortar canon. Central is a larger fascia surrounded by spears and containing the clock face topped by a carved red revolution cap.
