A small Chinese blue&white porcelain cup

Ming dynasty, Chenghua period

3.9 cm H x 8.2 cm Diam

The shape of the small cup is sloping mouth, curved abdomen, ringed feet, and can be held in a hand. The cup body is painted with blue and white animal patterns, and is furnished for banquets. The size is moderate, which is rare.

PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
