A Chinese blue&white porcelain vase with flowers pattern
Ming dynasty, Jiajing period
48 cm H x 26 cm Diam
The blue and white phoenix pattern plum bottle has a small mouth, short neck, full shoulders, thin bottom, and round feet. The bottle is slender and has a pretty and pretty shape. The abdomen is decorated with blue and white flowers and dragons. The patterns are wide and narrow, separated by string patterns, the blue and white composition is rigorous, the layers are distinct, the themes are prominent, and they are integrated, appearing complicated and not chaotic. The brushwork is deep and powerful, and the cyan is gorgeous and simple, and the style is vivid and bold.
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of Garold G. Darty(1930-2019) of Bear, DE. Born in Townsend, DE on June 29, 1930, Garold was a life-long Delaware resident. He served in the U. S. Army National Guard from 1948 until 1954. He worked as a surveyor for Delaware Dept. of Transportation for 37 years, from 1954 until retiring in 1991. A devoted family man, he especially loved family gatherings and crab feasts. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, working in his yard, garden, and home. He was a faithful Phillies and NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing all across the country and accomplished his goal of visiting 48 of the 50 states. Bud was a member of The United Methodist Church, Georgetown, where he served as an usher and enjoyed the fellowship of his church family.
