Tang Dai (1673-after 1752), named Yudong, named Jingyan, also known as Zhisheng, Ailu, Mozhuang, Manchurian Zhenglan Banner, and a famous painter in the
Qing dynasty
. Cheng Zujue, served as the leader of Xiaoqi, the head of the official internal affairs office, and waited for the inner court with paintings. Landscape painting was first studied by Jiao Bingzhen, and later became Wang Yuanqi's disciple together with Wang Jingming and Zhang Zongcang, and he became famous as a master of Beijing. Emperor Kangxi admired his paintings, often called to paint, and awarded him the title of "painting champion."
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of David George Glen (1924-2016) of Delaware, raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of William and Agnes Glen. His formal education was completed at Daniels Stewarts College, Edinburgh, after which he entered the field of medicine. He was a certified rehabilitation specialist, serving in military and civilian hospitals in the United Kingdom. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the Royal Air Force. In 1955 David immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1961.
