Qi Baishi (January 1, 1864—September 16, 1957), formerly known as Chunzhi, with the word Weiqing, and the name Lanting, later renamed Huang, with the word Weisheng, the name Baishi, Baishishanweng, Lao Ping, Hungry Man, Ji The owner of Shanyin Pavilion, an old man in Jipingtang, a rich man with three hundred stone seals, was born in Dangshan, Suzhou, Anhui, and was born in Xiangtan, Changsha, Hunan (now Xiangtan, Hunan). He is a master of modern Chinese painting and a world cultural celebrity.
PROVENANCE:From The Estate of David George Glen (1924-2016) of Delaware, raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of William and Agnes Glen. His formal education was completed at Daniels Stewarts College, Edinburgh, after which he entered the field of medicine. He was a certified rehabilitation specialist, serving in military and civilian hospitals in the United Kingdom. From 1942 to 1945, he served in the Royal Air Force. In 1955 David immigrated to the United States, becoming a citizen in 1961.
