Located on the Southern slope of the Dora Baltea, or the Valsavarenche Valley Torrent Savara, is located immediately in parallel to that of Cogne, and before that of Rhêmes, analyzing so topographical layout of the valleys in Aosta Valley from East to West. Beginning above the small Communes of Villeneuve and Introd, right at its entrance, stretches toward South for over 26 Kilometres after reaching 15 from the main town of Villeneuve-Degioz Valsavarenche, at the foot of the Grand Nomenon and Grivola (3969m) to the East and the length of chain that reaches from Mount Roletta Punta Bioula (3413m) on the opposite side. Gran Paradis in Graian Alps is 4,061 m 13,323 feet with a prominence of 6,165 ft. Near Mont Blanc. The area surrounding it was the hunting ground of King Victor Emmanuele the grandfather of The Duke of the Abruzzi Luigi Amadeo; Vittorio Sella joined on three major expeditions lead by the Duke to Alaska, the Rwenzori in Africa and to K2 in the Himalayas. The Grand Combin in Switzerland is the source of the Rhone River.

Sella's negatives ranged in size from the standard 30 x 40 cm (approximately 11 x 15.5"), 12 x 20 cm, (8 x 10"), and 24 x 30 cm (9 x 12"). He also used stereoscopic and handheld Kodak cameras. By the time of the Turin exhibition, he was enlarging his prints. The most celebrated of his work were the multi-plate panoramas which would comprise much of the AMC collection.
