This lot is one from of a group of the most beautiful vintage silver gelatin prints he made from his final expedition. The goal was to scale K2/Chhogori/Mount Godwin-Austen 8,611 m 20,029 ft., the second highest mountain on planet Earth in the Himalayas Karakoram Range.

Bride Peak is where The Duke of the Abruzzi set his altitude record on this climb.

Chogolisa has several peaks; Chogolisa I on the SW face is the highest is 7,665 7,668 m 25,157 ft. 36th highest in the Concordia Region. On the NE side is Chogolisa II/Bride Peak the second highest sub peak at 7,654 m. The Duke of the Abruzzi reached 7,498 m 24,600 ft on this in 1909 establishing his world altitude record.
