This may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire this scarce Santa Fe railroad item.Absolutely authentic from the estate of a Santa Fe super collector who purchased, and personally removed, this set from a vintage Santa Fe Railroad car which was being scrapped many years ago.These figures were originally housed in a circa 1940's Santa Fe El Capitan dining car. I have enclosed a postcard photograph from a 1940's which you can clearly see a set of the three Zuni figures, and then a Thunderbird above the light fixture. (Postcard and advertising photo are not included in the auction, they are for illustrative purposes only.) This is a set of three metal Zuni figures attached to each other and also a separate Thunderbird figure. The grouping would have sat inside a mounting track, above the windows inside the diner, which is clearly visible in the postcard photo. The figures are a cast metal alloy, the Thunderbird retains a bit of a glossier finish, while the Zuni figures are in a matte finish. There are two screw holes on the bottom of the Zuni figures. The Thunderbird is one piece, and both would have sat along a track. These are absolutely authentic and extremely hard to find. Thunderbird measures approx. 4. 5 by 4.75 inches Zuni figurines are 4.75 Height by 15 inches long. Take a look at the photo (for illustrative purposes) of the interior of Santa Fe Lunch Counter Diner car that also shows the figures. This is not a set that comes along every day.
