Description
Native American, Missouri, Transitional Paleo Indian to Late Woodland Period, ca. 8500 BCE to 1100 CE (10,500 to 900 BP). A remarkable ensemble of 18 hand-knapped stone projectile points, 1 stone effigy lizard, and 1 knife/shaft smoother. These impressive arrowheads present with varying forms, such as auriculate lanceolate, triangular, triangular corner notch, auriculate, triangular side notch, expanding stem, triangular stemmed, triangular contracting stem, triangular expanding stem, triangular basal notch, triangular bifurcated, corner notch, ovate, and triangular stemmed. Boasting hues of cream, taupe, vanilla, rosy brown, misty rose, redwood, ash grey, and charcoal grey, the fabulous points exemplify many different types, including Sorter's Bluff, Pike County, Antler Point, Quad, Simonsen, Steuben, Florence, Dyroff, Belknap, Hardin, Mehlville, Rice Lobed, Snyders, and Manker. Two arrowheads cannot be places and have been classified as Eccentric types. Size of largest: 1.5" W x 3.25" H (3.8 cm x 8.3 cm); Size of frame: 12" W x 8.625" H (30.5 cm x 21.9 cm)

Condition
Fit with modern wood and glass frame. Abrasions to bottom periphery of frame. Largest point has losses to sides and stable hairline fissure. Chips to tips of three. Losses to stems of two. Natural pressure fissure to one in upper right corner. Expected nicks/chips to peripheries commensurate with age and use. Otherwise, very nice with light earthen deposits.
