Description
Gorgeous antique bust of a cute little girl made of porcelain by Vion & Baury, French, circa the early 1870s. This bust figure represents the Summer, it is a part of a special Four Seasons collection. Adorable baby girl sculpture with delicate flowers and leaves woven into her blonde hair and a blue shawl tied around her neck placed on a pedestal decorated with floral patterns and gilded edging with a golden inscription ETE on a black background. Marked on the bottom with Jean Gille, Vion & Baury mark. Jean Gille founded a porcelain factory in France in 1845 and produced impeccable quality porcelain figurines. In 1868 model master Charles Baury took over the factory's management and the brand became known as Vion and Baury. JG stamps were used until the mid-1870s.
