Description
North America, United States, Tennessee, Shelby County, Mississippian culture, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A large hand-knapped chert stone tool with a wide cutting edge and a narrow butt end. The chert has nice smokey and creamy gray hues. This hefty tool could have served a variety of tasks such as cutting, scraping hides, or digging, and it may have been attached to a wooden handle. Size: 7" L x 2.75" W (17.8 cm x 7 cm)
