Wallace Nez - Navajo Contemporary Black Carved Seed Jar with Hummingbird Pictorial, 2" x 2". Signed "Wallace Nez" on bottom. Wallace Nez was raised by his grandparents, Roy and Daisy J. Harvey in Aneth, Utah. He became interested in art as a young boy and involved himself in sketching and working with ceramics. Wallace credits his grandparents for his success as a potter. His pieces are traditionally made, hand-coiled with traditional clay. He etches and paints intricate old designs and gives them a contemporary interpretation. He was awarded one of Utah's top five Entrepreneurial awards along with 1st Place Ribbons at Indian Market, Santa Fe and Best of Division at the Museum of Northern Arizona Navajo Show. His work resides in collections and galleries across the Southwest. Each lot shows additional images, condition reports, and provenance. Please review all images. NOTE SHIPPING HANDLING TIME: Please allow a handling time of 1 to 3 weeks for your item(s) to be shipped. In gallery pick up date starts May 19th by appointment. NOTE FEES CHARGED: 1.
