(Disneyland, c.2000s) A park-used entrance sign from Big Thunder Ranch in Disneyland's Frontierland. The impressive sign hung on a log gate welcoming guests back into the broader attraction from the Celebration & Roundup Barbeque. Constructed of distressed wooden planks secured with riveted metal bands, "Big Thunder" is painted in white at center, and monogram cattle brands appear at either end. Curved metal hanging hooks are affixed at the top for attachment to the gate's wooden crossbeam. Countless park guests would have seen this exact sign as they enjoyed their visits to the beloved former Frontierland landmark. Measuring 19"x107" and 2" deep, the piece is in good park-used condition. Given that the sign was a permanent outdoor fixture during its tour of service, it exhibits surface and wood wear throughout from exposure to the elements, most pronounced along the bottom edge.
