(Walt Disney World, 1996) A prop candy button used to decorate Cinderella Castle for Walt Disney World's 25th anniversary. In one of the more radical refurbishments ever to take place at a Disney park, Cinderella Castle was transformed into a giant birthday cake for the Magic Kingdom's silver jubilee. Consisting of a plastic dome over a wooden frame equipped with holes for hanging, candy buttons like this one studded every level of the castle's towers. The piece is painted in orange enamel and sprinkled with pearlescent confetti. Measuring 30" in diameter x 15" deep, the candy button is in good condition with patches of paint loss, paint chipping and cracking, surface wear, and weathering.
