Description
Outstanding triangular dia earrings, c1920, 1.25 inches drop length, GIA reports on the largest diamonds in each earring which are 1.13cts and 1.28cts, the 1.13 carat being I color and I1 clarity(see below), and the other large diamond being 1.28 carats and G color and SI2. Total weight is 11.55 dwts
No markings. The metal is platinum and the backs are 14k white gold.
Pearls were not checked for natural versus cultured
Pearls measure approximately 10.2mm each
Although the GIA rated one of the large diamonds as I clarity, it is overreaching. There is a very thin ghostly white line inside the diamond(natural white line), that is very difficult to see even with a 10x loupe, but earned the diamond an I clarity at the GIA. In my opinion, all the diamonds in these earrings are eye clean and SI1 or SI2 at worst! The earrings each have two .40ct triangular diamonds(estimate), as well as three gorgeous .25ct marquise diamonds(estimate) dangling down, there are approximately 14 large rose cut diamonds going around the pearl cap in two rows. They are not like the typical rose cuts, but are larger and very clean and clear sometimes with a flat table. The color of all the diamonds is G. Total diamond weight of all the diamond stones in both earrings (including the largest GIA triangles) is 6 carats. Signed David Killen, GIA.
