Very rare Japanese WWII Tanto Mumei.
Usually, an army’s sword is only Katana, But this sword is Tanto and it is rare.
I have seen one Wakizashi size Gunto, but this is the first time I see Tanto size Gunto.
This Koshirae used leather bag before
Made by Aizu Kanenobu in the year 1680.
I think this tanto was a family treasure given to the son who
will go to the battlefield.
Most likely this tanto belonged to a Japanese pilot
who went on his fighter plane.
