Description
Pair of corner consoles Carlos III, s. XVIII, carved wood, polychrome, gilded. Wide skirt with openwork reserve topped with lace.Portuguese glazed ceramic headboard, with marks Faianca Battistini of Maria de Portugal, 1 st half of the twentieth century. Glazed and polychromed with marine motifs. Glazed sides topped with rocailles. Minimal restoration work. The factory was founded in 1836 as Companhia Fabril de Louca, the Battistini factory was named the Constancia pottery factory in 1842. During the 19th century, Wenceslao Cifka (1811-1884) was the main promoter. After the death of Leopoldo Battistini (1865-1936), Maria de Portugal (1884-1971) took over the management. .
